Barazani rejects any Turkish interference in Northern Iraq
Iraq-Turkey, Politics, 2/20/2003
The chairman of the Kurdistani Democratic Party, Masoud al-Barazani, has expressed total rejection of any Turkish military interference in northern Iraq.
In a statement he made yesterday with the BBC, al-Barazani said that there will be no difference with the USA in case it supports the foundation of a democratic Iraq based on confederation. He stressed the need of coordinating with Washington in a way not humiliating to the dignity of the Iraqi people.
He added that should there be an American intention to impose an American military rule or a certain regime in Iraq, this matter will be rejected by the Kurds.
