Bahraini delegations heads for Iraq to show support
Bahrain-Iraq, Politics, 2/20/2003

A delegation representing Bahraini political, vocational and humanitarian organizations headed for Iraq yesterday on board of a ship carrying humanitarian aid in an initiative of protest against American war threats against Iraq.

The delegation which includes 88 persons including 20 women left the Bahraini coast on board of the ship ( al-Manaar) loaded by 1.5 tons of medicine offered by the ministry of health, the Red Crescent society and peace activists in Bahrain.

The delegation intends to organize a demonstration against war in front of the offices of the UN inspectors in Baghdad.

The organizer of the trip, Hassan al-Ali, said that this step is an attempt to alleviate the sufferings of the Iraqi people as a result of the sanctions imposed on them, and to show the increasing people's opposition for any threat to launching an unjustified aggression against the Iraqis.
