Al-Shara contacts with AL chief, Arab peers

Syria's Foreign Minister, Farouk Al-Shara on Tuesday evening received a number of phone calls from Tunisian and Libyan foreign ministers as well as from the Arab League Secretary General, Amr Moussa.

Al-Shara and his Tunisian counterpart, Habib Ben Yahya, during the phone call, reviewed the latest developments in the region, international exerted efforts for solving the Iraqi issue peacefully within the framework of the UN, as well as the necessity of deciding a unified Arab stand against any military action against Iraq.

Duing the second call, Minister Shara discussed the Iraqi issue with Amr Moussa, on the necessity of keeping the Arab position adopted by the Arab foreign ministers' latest meeting of Cairo.

Additionally, the foreign minister discussed with the Libyan Secretary of the General Public Committee for African Unity, Ali Abdulsalam al-Turaiki, during a phone contact, the latest developments in the region particularly the Iraqi issue in the light of the latest meeting of the Arab Foreign ministers in Cairo.
