Al-Faisal: American unilateral attack against Iraq is an aggression
Saudi Arabia-Iraq, Politics, 2/19/2003

The Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al- Faisal has stated that an American unilateral attack against Iraq will be considered by many as a hostility action, however, he explained that the attack against Iraq is not considered so if it is made with the approval of the UN Security Council.

In a statement to the BBC, al-Faisal said he recommends the USA strongly to continue working within the UN.

The Saudi minister added "we believe that a unilateral act will not be good for the USA. Such an act will encourage people to think that the US is launching an aggression rather than working for the implementation of a UN resolution." He added that the Middle East region will suffer the results of any military action, noting that the war will result in destabilizing the region.

He said that changing the regime in Baghdad, together with destroying Iraq means solving a problem by creating other problems.

The US President George Bush on Monday made a telephone call with the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and discussed with him the situation in the region.
