2836 Palestinians killed, 43,468 wounded, since the al-Aqsa Intifada
Palestine-Israel, Military, 2/18/2003
The Palestinian minister of health Ahmad al-Sheibi has stressed that the total number of Palestinians who were killed by the Israeli forces since the beginning of the Palestinian Intifada tolled 2836, including 544 children, under the age of 18, while the number of wounded tolled 43,468.
In a statement quoted by the Palestinian Satellite TV station, al-Sheibi said that 89 patients of both sexes died because the Israeli forces positioned at the check points prevented ambulances from transporting those patients to hospitals to receive necessary medical treatment.
Al-Sheibi warned against the deterioration of the health conditions of the Palestinians as a result of the siege imposed by the Israeli forces against the Palestinian provinces.
He called on the world health organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and all international organizations concerned to interfere in order to put and end to the Israeli aggressions and the siege imposed on the Palestinian cities and villages.
