Qathafi two proposals to solve the Iraqi crisis

Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi on Sunday presented two proposals in order to solve the crisis between Iraq and both the US and Britain. The first proposal states that the UN Security Council or the USA issue what can be officially "a proof to that if Iraq owns the mass destruction weapons and put them at the disposal of the UN inspectors, then all military arrangements would no longer be needed."

The second proposal is that the UN Security Council issue a resolution "on the continued work of the inspectors, calmly and routinely and the work of the inspectors continue to prevent Iraq from possessing or developing any of the mass destruction weapons, and this would put an end to this crisis."

A Libyan official statement said that these proposals were crystallized during the lengthy telephone calls Qathafi held with several world leaders on the need of dismantling mass destruction weapons from Iraq "and the middle East region which should be totally free from it."

The Libyan official news agency JANA said that Qathafi received on Sunday a telephone call from the Spanish prime minister Jose Maria Aznar during which they discussed the need of making efforts in order to prevent the occurrence of the war against Iraq. So as to spare the world its destructive consequences on peace and security in the world. They indicated the need "of dismantling the mass destruction weapons in Iraq by peaceful means."
