Mubarak: Culture requires freedom for authors

In his address at the opening of the Cairo International Book Fair, President Mubarak said that culture must be linked to social issues. "Writers cannot play the social role that is expected of them if they feel that their hands are tied or that they are 'remote-controlled'," he said.
