Maher confers with Sabri

The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmed Maher yesterday in Cairo met with his Iraqi counterpart Naji Sabri on the developments concerning the Iraqi issue and the exerted Arab efforts in order to reach a peaceful solution for the crisis in the framework of international law.
The two officials also discussed Baghdad's positive cooperation with the UN inspection teams and its commitment to UN Security Council resolutions 1441.
Following the meeting, Maher stressed the unwavering Arab stand in rejecting any military action against Iraq and continued efforts to settle the Iraqi issue by peaceful means.
Maher indicated that massive demonstration that took place on Saturday in hundreds of cities in various parts of the world, expressing the vast international rejection to military action and the strong and effective move to foster the chances of the peaceful solution, so as to protect Iraq and the Arab region and to maintain world peace and security.
