The Spanish prime minister Jose Maria Aznar has asked the Greek prime minister Kostas Semeitis the current president of the European Union to work for precise and rapid implementation of the UN resolution no. 1441 concerning disarmament of Iraq.
News reports said yesterday that the Spanish prime minister stressed in a message to his Greek counterpart the need to take into account the two reports submitted by the two chiefs of the UN inspectors during the discussions of the summit meeting due to be held by the EU member states today.
Aznar expressed his conviction that Europe can give a lot for world peace and stability.
