Al-Rai al-Aam: Several Kuwaiti oil wells closed near Iraq border
Kuwait-Iraq, Politics, 2/17/2003

The Kuwaiti oil company has announced that it has closed several oil wells to the North of the country because of proximity to the Kuwaiti- Iraqi borders, noting that other oil fields continue operations.

The director of the public relations and media group at the company, Bander Mubarak al-Zweir, said in a statement issued yesterday by the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Aam that number of the labor force was reduced in the unlocked northern oil fields, in implementation of security directives.

Meantime, all personnel working in the locked oil fields in the northern area were transferred to the southern oil fields in Kuwait.
