Papandreau on Saturday in Cairo to meet with his Arab peers

The Greek foreign minister Georges Papandreau whose country assumed the current rotating presidency of the European Union announced yesterday he will head for Cairo on Saturday to meet with his Arab peers upon the convening of their meeting due to be held on Sunday.
In an interview with the private Greek "Blanight" radio in Athens, Papandreau said that he had decided this visit after he had received an invitation from the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa.
Papandreau added "I will talks in the name of the European Union to the Arab ministers in order to debate our views and hear theirs." He added that the presidium of the UN will inform the summit of states and governments members at the EU, dedicated for Iraq and to be held on February 17 in Brussels on the result of exchanging these view points.
Papandreau visited Egypt last Friday and held talks on Iraq with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmad Maher and with Amr Moussa. Earlier he had visited Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
