Al-Assad gets phone call from Chirac on Iraqi issue

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad yesterday evening received a telephone call from the French President Jacques Chirac during which talks dealt with the Iraqi issue and the French- German initiative for peacefull resolution of the Iraqi issue and enhancing the work of the UN inspectors and giving them enough time to complete their mission. It was agreed between the two presidents to continue consultation and coordination between the two sides to this effect.
