Morocco's irrigation dams filled at 59%
Morocco, Local, 2/11/2003
Water reserves in Morocco's irrigation dams reached 7.7 billion cubic meters, i.e. 59% of their capacity, by January 31, 2003, the ministry of agriculture and rural development said in a release.
These dams were 45% full at the same period last year. The increase is due to a national rain volume that reached 275 mm by January 31, in comparison with a normal year rainfall of 198 mm, the release goes.
