Saudi Arabia-Regional, Politics, 2/11/2003
The Saudi Arabian, Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah al-Sheikh, has stressed the need of inter- Islamic solidarity to withstand challenges facing the Islamic nation. He warned against "enemy schemes" which target the Islamic states.
He said before more than 2 million pilgrims who performed prayers at Namra mosque at Arafat's Mount yesterday: " the forces of evil are using every allegation and means to damage the Islamic states. They want to disperse the line and divide the Islamic nation." He indicated that the "enemies of the Islamic nation have targeted it in its curricula, when they claim that these educational curricula call for terrorism and targeted it in its economy when they tried to link its economy to theirs.
The Saudi Mufti also denounced the western media campaign against Islam and its attempt to link terrorism to Islam, calling on the Muslim media people to withstand this campaign.
