Algerian FM: upcoming meeting between King Mohammed and President Bouteflika

Algerian Foreign Minister, Abdelaziz Belkhadem, on Friday announced a meeting shortly between King Mohammed VI and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria.

The Algerian official, who was speaking to the press after a meeting with King Mohammed VI in Marrakesh, said the "projected summit talks will focus on means to upgrade cooperation and brotherly ties between Morocco and Algeria."

Belkhadem already met with several Moroccan officials, including Premier Driss Jettou and Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister, Mohamed Benaissa, over means to enhance relations between the two Maghreban states.

According to Belkhadem, King Mohammed VI "renewed his determination to give Moroccan-Algerian relations a boost."

The Algerian official said he conveyed to the king a message of friendship and brotherhood from President Bouteflika.
