Hurriyet: Gul, Ramadan held secret meeting
Iraq-Turkey, Politics, 2/8/2003

In its yesterday's ( Friday ) issue, the Turkish daily Hurriyet said that the Turkish prime minister Abdullah Gul informed the Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan during the meeting he had held with them, secretly last Monday in Ankara the details of the high- tech developments which took place in Washington following the Gulf war and the need to take into consideration the number of bombs which will be dropped on Iraq per one minute in case an American military operation is held against it, Iraq.

The paper said that Gul also told Ramadan that in case the US launches a military operation against Iraq, Turkey will not remain outside this process and will consider the foundation of a Kurdish state a reason for the war.

The paper indicated that Gul is bewildered by the fact that no reaction is expressed so far by the Iraqi President although 48 hours were elapsed since the meeting he had held with Ramadan.
