Attorney of Guantanamo detainees skeptical that Morocco re-admitted 23 detainees
Morocco, Local, 2/7/2003
The President of the International Defence Commission of Al Qaeda-linked detainees in Guantanamo dismissed as "unfounded" allegations that Morocco has re-admitted twenty three of its nationals imprisoned in X-Ray Camps.
Najib Naimi, whose statement was quoted Wednesday by Arabic daily "Ashark Al Awsat," stressed "that such a move wouldn't have gone unnoticed."
"Morocco didn't re-admit twenty three of its nationals detained in Guantanamo for the simple reason that the mentioned figure does not correspond to reality," Naimi further insisted.
He added that he would soon travel to the United States to start legal procedures related to the defence of Al Qaeda- linked detainees in X-Ray Camp, MAP reported.
