Preparations for Syrian parliamentary elections

Syria's interior ministry has completed all necessary measures for the 8th legislative elections and has afforded all means needed for the parliamentary elections.

In a statement to SANA reporter on Wednesday, the Interior Minister, Ali Hammoud, pointed out that the total number of the election nominees amounted to 10,403 and the number of citizens who are eligible to vote is 10, 817,821 Syrians to vote at 11,400 voting stations all over the country.

The interior minister added that "March 2nd, 2003 (election date) is going to be a massive national festival for Syrians to demonstrate national unity and support their wise leadership," the official news agency said.
