Qatar-Syria, Politics, 2/7/2003
Some 300 Syrians demonstrated yesterday in front of the Qatari embassy in Baghdad in protest of the facilities given by the Qatari government to the American forces which are preparing to launch a likely war against Iraq.
The demonstrators gathered in front of the Qatari embassy in al-Mansour area and burnt the American and the Israeli flags and raised banners in which written were statements saying " Qatar, Qatar, the lands of the Arabs are in danger." The demonstrators who carried Iraqi flags and the photos of the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein chanted " Qatar is an Arab land, not an American state" and " Shame, Shame for those who sold their country by dollar." The demonstrators handed a message of complaint to the representative of the Qatari embassy in Baghdad.
