Arab summit advanced due to Iraq crisis; FM emergency meeting on Feb 16

Bahraini Minister of Information Nabil Al-Homor said that his country agreed to a proposal by the Arab League to hold the Arab summit in Cairo.
The summit was due to be held in the Bahrain capital Manama on March 24.
The Arab summit will be held at Arab League headquarters in Cairo at a date to be agreed upon in coordination between member states and the Arab League secretariat.
A high-level diplomatic source at the Arab League Tuesday told Middle East News Agency (MENA) that Bahrain, where the summit was originally scheduled to be held, has accepted a proposal by Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa to move the venue of the meeting to Cairo.
The decision was conveyed to the Arab League secretariat by the ambassador of Bahrain in Cairo.
The source said that holding the summit in any Arab capital in the present circumstances supports the march of common Arab action.
Moussa had held intensive contacts to fix the date and venue of the Arab summit.
Meantime, The emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers will be held on February 15-16, Arab Leigue officials said. The agenda of the emergency meeting was open to discuss all developments on the Arab arena.
The Arab foreign ministers will determine during their meeting the agenda of the Arab summit, which would focus on preventing war against Iraq and the Palestinian problem.
