Israel demolishes 20 Palestinian homes in Hebron area

Israeli occupation troops imposed a curfew on the city of Hebron as part of a new military offensive which started early Thursday.

A Palestinian woman returning home from hospital was wounded yesterday when Israeli troops enforcing the curfew shot at the taxi she was in, witnesses said.

She was brought back to hospital for further treatment, medical sources confirmed.

Also in Hebron area, Israeli bulldozers demolished 22 houses in Beit Anoun village after forcing their inhabitants to evacuate them under gunpoint, witnesses added.

Israeli military sources claimed the demolished houses were built "without building permissions."

In Jericho the situation is disastrous, due to continual Israeli aggressions, the head of the city's municipality said yesterday.

In an interview with Sawt al-Arab Radio, Mustafa el-Netshie explained that Israel's recent aggressive procedures amount to a collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
