Spanish party leader slams Canary government's hostility towards morocco
Morocco-Spain, Politics, 2/1/2003
President of the Popular Party (PP) in the Canary Islands, Jose Manuel Soria, slammed Thursday "the permanent hostility of the Canary Islands government towards Morocco."
Leaders of the Canary Coalition (CC, government) must intervene to put an end to "the policy of permanent hostility followed by the Canary government towards Morocco," Soria said, criticizing the recent trip to Algiers by head of the CC, Carmelo Ramirez, along with a committee of support to the Polisario separatists.
The PP leader in the Canaries warned that visits of that kind only make Morocco-Spain ties restoration more difficult.
