Saudi Arabia-Regional, Politics, 2/1/2003
The commander of the al-Haj security force in the Saudi Arabia, Lt. Gen. Ali al-Baar, said yesterday that the Saudi security authorities will not permit any demonstrations of marches of protest during al-Haj season amid the current conditions in the region.
In a statement issued yesterday in the Saudi daily Okaz he said that the marches and demonstrations during holy activities are but rejected practices and can not be, any way, permitted.
In its last Monday's session, Saudi Arabia's Cabinet called on the pilgrims to stay away from events not related to the pilgrims religious rituals.
