Syrian Cultural Activity 'Syria in Rome' continues

Italian ANSA News Agency underlined the importance of the cultural activity,' 'Syria in Rome'', which began several days ago and will last till next June. In a prolonged report in Rome yesterday, the agency said that this activity would contribute in making the Italian people acquainted with the Syrian culture and shed light on the Syrian archaeological city of Ebla, north west of Syria.''
Talks about Ebla, which flourished at the 3rd Millennium B.C, would be the most prominent event in Syrian cultural program.''
The agency added The agency indicated that the Italian Professor, Paolo Mathiae, who discovered Ebla at 1964, lectured at the beginning of the activity on the importance of the recent discoveries at Ebla, the new buildings and royal temples which had put Syria on equal side with Egypt and Mesopotamia, the two main classic civilizations in the ancient Near East. The agency pointed out that the activity also includes exhibitions, documentaries, musical, literature and artistic evenings.
