Morocco, Economics, 1/28/2003
Morocco's King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid, dedicated Monday a new fishing port in the Moroccan Atlantic coast city of Agadir.
The project seeks to improve ships anchoring conditions, develop the fishing fleet and increase catches.
The facility cost 400 million dirhams, nearly US$ 40 million, 20 percent of which are paid the State and the remaining 80 percent by the Arab Economic and Social Development Fund.
The project will generate several job opportunities and will help encourage cruise tourism in the region.
