Government, trade union agree on working methodology to shelve pending issues
Morocco, Politics, 1/28/2003

A preliminary meeting held between Morocco's Premier, Driss Jettou, and a delegation of the Labor Democratic Confederation (CDT), led by its Secretary General Noubir Al Amaoui, agreed on a "working methodology" to shelve pending issues.

The meeting held in Rabat on Monday, is part of a string of meetings initiated by Jettou with different unions to probe the social situation in Morocco, Employment Minister Mustapha Mansouri said, adding discussions took place in "a very positive" atmosphere.

No "final accord" was however reached on the draft labor code, said Mansouri, adding that Jettou proposed a revision and "polishing" of the draft before tabling it to the parliament.

All unions concerned have shown "understanding" and "will" to reach "a definitive version" of the draft labor code, Mansouri said.
