Yemeni prime minister arrival statement in Damascus

Yemeni Prime Minister, Abdul Qader Bajmal arrived in Damascus yesterday to head the Yemeni side at the meetings of the joint Syrian- Yemeni higher committee, and he was received by Syrian Prime Minister, Mohamed Mustafa Miro and other senior officials.
Bajmal, in a statement praised the relations between the two states, and added that during the meetings of the higher committee they will discuss bilateral relations, pan-Arab causes and other topics related to trade and economy indicating that a number of agreements will be signed during this session.
He referred also to the difficult circumstances facing the region and the Arab nation which "require strengthening Arab solidarity and the national stance to be able to face these challenges."
For his part, Miro indicated that the meetings "will deal with the current challenges and the importance of supporting Palestinian people in their struggle against Israeli policy of killing and destruction as well as having a unified Arab stance towards the Iraqi issue in order to avert a war against Iraq."
He concluded by saying that bilateral talks will consolidate relations of cooperation between the two states and will yield positive results.
