Al-Shara confers with Russian ME special envoy

Syria's Foreign Minister, Farouk Al-Shara received in Damascus yesterday Russian Envoy to the Middle East, Andre Vidovine.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest regional developments, particularly the Iraqi issue and the exerted efforts for a peaceful solution.
Al-Shara stressed the UN Security Council role in solving the Iraqi crisis and the necessity of giving the international inspectors enough time to achieve their mission, particularly for those who are still suspecting that Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction, and have not yet offered enough evidence.
The deteriorated situation in the occupied Palestinian territories was also reviewed.
