Syria - Mauritania party talks

Syria's Assistant Secretary General of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, Abdullah Al-Ahmar, received yesterday evening Chairman of the Mauritanian Democratic Bloc Party, Ahmad Wild Dada.
Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral partisan relations and the current developments and the challenges facing the Arab states; "particularly the Israeli terrorist aggression on the Palestinian people and the imposition of the status quo on them," according to the official news. Talks also dealt with US. threats of war on Iraq.
Al-Ahmar underlined the role of the popular organizations in the mobilization the public and boosting Arab solidarity and cooperation in the face of the challenges facing the Arab nation.
