Al-Rai al-Aam: A plan to evacuate American civilians from Kuwait

The American embassy in Kuwait has issued a statement in which it called on all American citizens to prepare for all possibilities, due to the possibility of the occurrence of more acts or demonstrations denouncing the US policy concerning attacking Iraq.

To this effect, the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Aam said yesterday that a plan of three stages was laid to evacuate the Americans from Kuwait following the state of tension and caution they face in the country.

The paper explained, according to well-informed sources, that American officials are embarking on drawing plans to evacuate the Americans after a statement to this effect was issued by the American embassy in Kuwait.

The sources added that among the set plans is to evacuate the families of the Americans in the first phase, then the second phase is to evacuate employees and workers of the government and civil sectors, and in the third phase all civilians will be evacuated.

The sources defined the period of every phase between three to five days and that they are given the option to travel via airlines or travel by military planes, and to be prepared for that purpose.
