Washington 30 billion dollars to bribe allies neighboring Iraq
Turkey-USA, Politics, 1/24/2003

Officials said that the US administration is working to complete aid programs to each of Israel, Turkey and Jordan that might reach a volume of 30 billion dollars for several years of which 12 billion is for Tel Aviv, in an attempt to alleviate the economic consequences of a likely war against Iraq.

The US administration had formed two work groups in order to discuss the Israeli request to get 4 billions dollars as additional military aid and other 8 billion as loans guarantees, expected to be distributed on the three coming years.

Sources at the US Congress said that the US administration has almost finished preparation of another bunch of economic aid packages to each of Turkey and Jordan. Turkey is expected to get 14 billion dollars most of them as loans guarantees, for its cooperation in war against Iraq.
