International English and French translation college at Damascus University discussed
Syria, Education, 1/24/2003

The possibility of establishment of an international English and French translation college at Damascus University was reviewed in Damascus yesterday between Damascus University Rector, Hani Murtada, and Head of the Syrian Emigrants Association in Belgium, Haythem Safar.

During the meeting the two sides reviewed the technical, financial sides of the project in addition to teachers rehabilitation.

Murtada expressed Damascus University readiness to support such a vital project by all the available potentials.

Safar considered that the importance of this college lies in being the first international college in the Middle East and would include a large number of students from Syria and the neighboring states.

This project comes in line with cooperation between Syria and the European Commission for the establishment of joint and individual projects.
