Egyptian exports to Britain increase by 80 per cent

British Secretary of State for Trade and Investment, Baroness Simmons said in a press conference that British investments in Egypt reached $ 18 billion.
Egypt-Britain trade exchange amounted to one billion pound sterling last year.
Egyptian exports to Britain have increased by 80 per cent whereas British exports to Egypt increased by 2 per cent only, she added.
Baroness Simmons was speaking to a press conference that was also attended by Minister of Foreign Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali and Chairman of Egyptian-British Business Council, Mohammed Nosseir.
The British official said she was optimistic after her meeting with Prime Minister Atef Ebeid.
They discussed investment and cooperation in training and education.
Ghali said that Egypt-Britain trade exchange increased by 10 per cent last year, mostly in Egyptian non-petroleum products.
He highlighted the significant role of the Egyptian-British Business Council in boosting trade exchange between the two countries.
