Sudanese peace negotiations to be resumed today
Sudan, Politics, 1/22/2003
A Sudanese government delegation headed yesterday for Nairobi in order to resume peace negotiations today with the Southern Sudan rebels.
News reports quoted officials saying that this tour will be held at the Kenyan suburb of Karen in which a joint workshop was concluded yesterday between the government and the rebels on what were agreed regarding "the margined areas" which are al-Nouba mountains, the south of the blue Nile and Eibi area.
The participants in this round of talk will continue discussions on issues debated during the second round in Mashakos in November 2002, the two issues of sharing resources and the authority.
The government's delegation is composed of the minister of state at the peace Consulate Idris Muhammad Abdul Qader as a chairman and the membership of the foreign ministry secretary Mutarraf Saddiq and the official spokesman for the delegation Sayed al-Khatib and other four members.
