Al- Muashar meets with Israeli Labor party delegation
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 1/22/2003
Sources at the Jordanian foreign ministry unveiled yesterday a meeting took place between the Jordanian foreign minister Marwan Muasher and a delegation representing the Israeli Labor party. The Jordanian sources refused to state the time of the meeting and names of members of the Israeli delegation.
The sources said that Muasher informed members of the Israeli delegation that any dealing with the new Israeli government will be subject to its serious position regarding "the road map plan."
The same sources indicated that the Israeli Likud party asked the Jordanian government to postpone the visit of his delegation to Amman into another time to be set following the Israeli elections due on January 28th.
In a statement to the Jordanian Arab al-Youm ( Arab today), the Jordanian foreign minister criticized Sharon's statements concerning the "road map." He renewed Jordan's position in rejecting to deal with any plans that are not built on the Arab initiative on the ground of ending the occupation and establishing the Palestinian state.
