Over 20 canadian legislators visit Morocco
Morocco-Canada, Politics, 1/21/2003
A group of over twenty Canadian legislators are starting this Monday a one-week visit to Morocco to probe means to consolidate Moroccan-Canadian ties in legislative and democracy matters.
A diplomat source in Ottawa says this is the largest Canadian parliamentary delegation ever to undertake such a trip abroad.
After Rabat, where they will meet the speakers of the two parliamentary chambers and heads of parliamentary groups and committees, they will be visiting Morocco's Southern cities of Laayoune, Agadir and Tiznit.
Prime minister, Driss Jettou, is also scheduled to meet them in the presence of several cabinet members.
On the Canadian delegation's agenda are also encounters with non-governmental organizations.
