Al-Khartoum: Sudanese government, rebels agreement on relief aid to all Sudanese areas
Sudan, Politics, 1/21/2003
The Sudanese government and the rebels have agreed to continue the operations of allowing relief aid to reach all Sudanese areas.
The spokesman for the rebels Yasser Araman said in a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Khartoum issued yesterday that the government and the rebels agreed, during the final session of the joint technical committee in Nairobi on Sunday, that the relief operations would cover the two areas of Kasla province in East Sudan and the south of the Blue Nile as well as to continue these operations in al-Nouba mountains, according to the cease fire agreement which was signed between the two sides in Switzerland in 2002.
Araman considered that the success of the two parties in the said agreement is attributed to the international interest given to the situation of those who are vulnerable as a result of this war.
