Palestinian shot by Israelis, settlers burnt Palestinian al-Awqaf headquarters

The Palestinian Ammar Alyan ( 23 year old) was shot dead by the Israeli bullets and another (170- year old ) Palestinian was wounded in the head when the Israeli forces opened fire at him in the surrounding of Nafe Dekalim settlement near Khan Younis. He was admitted to hospital in a very critical health condition.
The Israeli forces continued inspection in operations in the occupied Palestinian territories and arrested in the area of the "contact line" by the end of last week 4300 Palestinians under pretext they could not get residence licenses. The Israeli radio said that 150 of them were arrested for investigations.
As the Israeli forces have arrested three Palestinians in Jenin and other three in Nablus and Toulkarem, on charge of resisting the occupation, the Israeli settlers burnt the Islamic al-Awqaf directorate in Hebron and set fire in several Palestinian houses and supermarkets at the guard of the Israeli army.
Palestinian sources said that the Israeli settlers broke into houses of Hebron and destroyed several cars and houses' doors and windows.
Meantime, Palestinian resistance fighters opened shells and bombs at Israeli military positions in Gaza and fired at one of Ghoush Katif settlements and detonated an explosive at an Israeli patrol in Nablus.
On the other hand, Israel has entered its third year in the worst wave of economic recession in 50 years following a reduction in its GNP by 1% in 2002 and at 0.9% for 2001 because of the great damages that hit the Israeli economy since the eruption of the Palestinian Intifada.
The central bureau for statistics said that unemployment rate in Israel increased to 10.5% in November 2002 after it remained at 10.4% during the past five months to continue to be at its highest level during the previous five months.
