Syrian Jordanian higher- education co-operation, agreement signed

Syria's Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa Miro, on Saturday received the visiting Jordanian Higher Education Minister, Mohammed Hamdan and the accompanying delegation comprising a number of university rectors. Miro focused on the importance of educational, scientific, cultural and intellectual cooperation as well as exchanging scientific and research expertise.

The premier also cited the importance of developing human resources as well as Syria's interest in higher education and scientific research for the interest of the comprehensive development process.

Meantime, Syria and Jordan on Saturday signed a three-year scientific cooperation agreement between the two ministries of higher education.

Damascus university Rector, Dr. Hani Murtada and the Jordanian Rector of the Jordan University signed a cooperation agreement in the field of developing study courses of the MAs as well as exchanging teaching teachers in both universities.

Another cooperation and twining agreement, on exchanging short term visits as well as publishing joint researches and publications, was signed between Aleppo University and the Jordanian University of Al- Zarqa'. The agreement was signed by both university rectors.

While two other agreements were signed between the Syrian Universities of Ba'ath and Teshreen and the Jordanian Universities of Hasan Bin Talal and the Yarmouk.
