Uganda's president discusses in Israel military and agricultural co-operation

Uganda's President Yuri Mousevini continues his one - week visit to Israel and is discussing buying weapons for his country and means of strengthening cooperation with Israel in the economic and agricultural fields, including irrigation.

Since Wednesday, Mousivini started visits to the Israeli military factories especially plane factories. He will be also attending military maneuvers for the Israeli army. The Ugandan president will visit today the Syrian occupied Golan heights which is occupied by Israel since 1967, before he would have headed for the site where the Christ was Baptized in the Jordan valley.

Earlier, Mousivini held talks with the Israeli President Moshe Katsav, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon and the foreign minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel and Uganda resumed their diplomatic relations in July 1994.

In addition to the weapons sales, Uganda seeks to get special Israeli aid in the agricultural and irrigation areas.
