Lebanese FM underlines Arab solidarity in Iraqi crisis, Arab- Israeli conflict
Lebanon-Regional, Politics, 1/17/2003

The Lebanese foreign minister Mahmoud Hammoud -- whose country presides over the rotating Arab summit -- yesterday underlined the importance of inter- Arab solidarity in order to solve the Iraqi crisis and the Arab- Israeli conflict "peacefully."

Hammoud said upon receiving members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Beirut that inter- Arab solidarity and support for the friendly countries guarantee a peaceful settlement for the Iraqi crisis as well as the Arab- Israeli conflict.

On Wednesday, the Arab ministers of the interior and information announced in conclusion of their meetings in Tunisia "total rejection for attacking Iraq and vowed to work for preserving the security and sovereignty of the Iraqi territorial integrity."
