Egypt - GCC Free trade zone Negotiations

The first round of negotiations started yesterday at the headquarters of the general secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) between the GCC member states, as one group and Egypt.

A statement issued by the GCC general secretariat said that during this session the two sides will review economic developments including the relations with the states and economic blocs in each of the GCC member states and Egypt, and considering the mechanism of the negotiations to provide for establishing a free trade zone between the two sides.

The first secretary of the Egyptian foreign trade ministry Fouad Qasem expressed in a speech during the meeting his hope to expand joint cooperation between his country and the GCC member states and reaching an economic and trade integration.
