Malaysian economic gowth model, in a lecture

Director of the Malaysian Institute for Economy Planning, Mohammed Arif delivered yesterday in Damascus a lecture on the strategy of Industry and Industrial Investment in Malaysia.

Arif reviewed the Malaysian experience which depends on attracting the foreign investments stressing the importance of experience in attracting the manufacturers and knowledge and technique exchange.

He added that Malaysia depends on industries that have added value such as electronic, biologic and genetic industries in addition to investments in the fields of tourism and education and selling financial services.

Arif stressed the importance of regional ties for building stable and open economy and free trade zone rich with direct foreign investments.

At the conclusion of the lecture, al-Za'im affirmed the importance of the Malaysian experience and the necessity of benefiting from it stressing that Syria has a good economy and big capacities to create a regional market and regional development.
