Saudi Arabia, Libya deny news on receiving Saddam Hussein
Iraq-Regional, Politics, 1/11/2003

Saudi Arabia has denied news which said that a high ranking Saudi official visited Baghdad in December 2002 to explore the possibility of the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein resigning position in his country.

The Saudi news agency quoted an official Saudi source as saying yesterday that these news which were related by the mass media were categorically groundless.

Meantime, Libya denied news which talked about making contacts to receive the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein as a political asylum seeker in Libya.

A source at the Libyan people's general committee for foreign contacts and international cooperation said in a statement yesterday that these news are false, noting the need of solving differences and problems in international relations through dialogue and understanding and the building of confidence in order to serve world peace.
