Saudi donations for al-Aqsa fund
Saudi Arabia-Palestine, Politics, 1/9/2003
Saudi Arabia has allotted a sum of USD 7 million at the account of al-Aqsa Fund in order to enhance available resources to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
In a statement yesterday, the Islamic Bank for Development (IBD) said that this money is in the context of complying with the resolution of the recent Beirut Arab summit in calling its member states to give extra support estimated at USD 150 million for the two funds of al-Aqsa and "Jerusalem's uprising," to be allotted for boosting development areas in Palestine.
The IBD indicated that the total amount of funds given by the participating states at al-Aqsa and " Jerusalem Intifada" funds up to date is USD 692.2 million.
