Jordanian parties ask King Abdullah for national dialogue on elections

Some 17 Jordanian parties representing various political strata ( opposition and moderate) called on, in a message to King Abdullah II, for the priority of opening national dialogue about the parliamentary elections and to amend its law to cope with requirements of the age.
Jordanian sources said "The parties meeting at the palace of al-Nahda party has called on the government to stop issuing provisional laws including the 'parties laws,'" stressing the need that such proposed laws to be debated at the parliament due to be elected this spring.
A summarized press statement by al-Nahda party said that the representatives of these parties submitted a message to the Jordanian King to give them the views of these parties from various national and patriotic aspects for the current phase.
Parties taking part in the meeting were: The Islamic Work; The Baath Socialist party, the New Dawn, the Constitutional Front; the Prosperity, People's Committee movement, Citizen's Right and "the guardian" of the Jordanian communist party, the people's unity, the Baath progressive party, the occupied lands party, the message party and the "Arab message party, and the Jordanian Arab party.
The secretary of al-Nahda party, Muhjim al- Khreish, ( one of the 17 parties ) said in a statement that these parties agreed also to issue joint political statements on the collective position of these parties concerning the American- Israeli aggression against the Arab territories in each of Iraq and Palestine.
