On Sabri's visit to Iran

Well-informed sources said that the visit of the Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri which was due to Tehran on Monday was postponed because of bilateral differences that go back to the second Gulf war, while an internal crisis emerged because of this visit, as a member in the Iranian parliament threatened to file a memorandum for resigning if the Iranian foreign minister Kamal Kharazi receives Sabri.

The said Iranian parliamentarian Beir No'azen said "we are not sure that the next visit will be by Sabri, but as soon as his feet touch Iran we will file a memorandum against Kharazi." Sabri's visit was announced for the first time at an Internet web-site close to the Iranian conservatives.

However, a source at the Iranian foreign ministry stated no information about this issue.

Mo'azin said "the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein apologized to Kuwait for his occupation of this country for two months, but he refused to ask the Iranians their forgiveness after he had occupied parts of our lands for 8 years." Kharazi was also criticized by several Iranian parliamentarians because of the visit Sabri held to Iran in September 2002.

Meantime, the chairman of the Kurdistani national federation Jalal al-Talibani is visiting Tehran for the second time within less than two months to meet with the Iranian officials according to the Iranian daily Iran News yesterday. The paper said that Talibani will discuss during his visit which will last four five days " the Iraqi question after Saddam. Period."
