Syrian- Iraqi parliamentary talks

Head of the Syrian Executive Committee of the Syrian Parliamentary Section, Abed al-Qader Qaddoura received yesterday in Damascus the Speaker of the Iraqi National Council, ( parliament) Sa'adon Hamadi.

Talks during the meeting dealt with situation in the region particularly in Iraq and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The two sides stressed the necessity of putting an end to the "Israeli terrorist practices against the Palestinian people and moving a way the ghost war on Iraq after it was committed to UN resolutions regarding the return of the international inspectors" insisting on the need of solving all issues of the region on the bases of the international law and the UN resolutions.

Talks also dealt with the bilateral relations and spheres of cooperation on the parliamentary field.

Present at the meeting were the deputy head of the Syrian parliamentary section, Shaker Aseed and the head of the Iraqi interests section in Damascus, Rifaat Anni. The Iraqi official arrived in Damascus earlier in the day.
