Al-Assad confers with Lebanese army commander

President Bashar al-Assad received yesterday the Lebanese Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Michael Suleiman. Talks during the meeting dealt with relations between the two armies in addition to the situation developments in the region.
Earlier today, the Lebanese Army Commander, accompanied by a military delegation, arrived in Damascus and was received by the Chief of General Staff of the Army and the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Hasan Tourkmani and senior army officers.
The two sides discussed relations and cooperation between the two armies and countries and means of bolstering them for the interest of the two armies.
The two sides also discussed the undergoing events in the region particularly the deteriorated situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
