Demonstration in Bahrain, Pakistan in soliderity with Iraq

A demonstration took place yesterday in Bahrain included hundreds of persons in protest of the American threats to launch a war against Iraq.
News reports said the demonstrators chanted slogans and raised banners denouncing the American policy and expressed their rejection to the presence of the American forces in the Gulf region.
"The demonstration was organized by the Bahrain committee to support Iraq and the Bahraini anti-normalization society, starting after the Friday prayers from al-fatih mosque.The demonstrators sent a letter to the U.S. ambassador in Manama expressing rejection of the U.S. threats against Iraq," INA reported today.
Also, "the initiative to support Iraq" which comprises 50 unions and societies organized a stand up before the Qatari embassy in Rabat. "The demonstrators handed the Qatari ambassador a letter protesting against the U.S. threats against Iraq," INA said.
INA added "The letter called on the Arab states not to allow the U.S. and British aggressive forces to use Arab lands as bases to attack Iraq. In Pakistan, demonstrations swept into the streets of Pakistani cities after the Friday prayers in protest against the U.S. threats against Iraq. Al-jazeera satellite channel correspondent there said it is the first time such mass demonstrations lead into the streets of Pakistan since the U.S. led campaign against Afghanistan a year ago."
Meantime, INA said "the first group of French volunteers to express the French people's solidarity with Iraq against the U.S. threats" were to arrive in Baghdad this week.
